Chart Configuration

The Chart List shows all charts for this profile. A chart can hold more than one variable plot and define some extra configuration parameters for all plots within. Chart grouping is important when you need to set different sampling rates for variables or when you need to set a different window size to accommodate more samples. Data for all charts are captured in real-time, even for charts that are not currently shown on screen.

To add a new chart, click on Add Chart button on the toolbar. The Add Chart Wizard will open.
In the first step, select a name for the chart and click on Next.
The Step 2 will show the following options:
  • Sampling Rate: The rate(in milliseconds) at which the Tag Explorer will plot new points to the chart.

  • Horizontal Range: Specifies the range of values for the horizontal axis of the chart.
When the Auto option is selected, the range is automatically calculated based on available points.

  • Vertical Range: Specifies the range of values for the vertical axis of the chart.
When the Auto option is selected, the range is automatically calculated based on available points.

  • Horizontal Label: Label to be used for the chart's horizontal axis.

  • Vertical Label: Label to be used for the chart's vertical axis.

  • Database Limit: Defines whether there is a size limit for the chart's database file, or if it can grow indefinitely. If a size limit is configured, then old data will be thrown away in order to make space for new data when the limit is reached.
