Raw Tags Configuration

Each published SNMP variable contains a unique identifier and this identifier is used for both SNMP reads and writes. OID (Object identifier) numbering is distributed over a hierarchical tree which groups all related variables in the same branch.

The Device Tag List shows both scanned and manually added items for this device.

For each listed variable, you can manually configure the data type and filtering.

There are seven columns in the tag list view:

bullet Enable: Indicates if the tag is active to server scan.

bullet History: Add this tag into XRatel Historian Service.

bullet Tag Name: Name that will be used by the server to publish this variable.

bullet SNMP OID: Object identifier(OID) of a SNMP variable in the selected device.

bullet SNMP MIB: The MIB name of this tag.

bullet Tag Type: Indicates if the tag is a pooling tag or a trap tag.

bullet Value: The current value of the tag.

Using the top toolbar, you can manually add, edit properties or remove a Tag.

For manually adding a SNMP variable, you can use the Add Tag button on the top toolbar.

You can edit properties of a variable by clicking on Tag Properties toolbar button or right-clicking the variable in the list and choosing Tag Properties from the context menu.

You can customize the following item settings:

bullet Tag Name: Name that will be used by the server to publish this variable.

bullet SNMP OID: Object identifier(OID) of a SNMP variable in the selected device.

bullet Data Type: Data type that will be used by the server to publish this item. Please notice that if you publish a character string as integer, the tag will be unavailable.

bullet Tag Type: Indicates if the tag is a pooling tag or a trap tag.

bullet 1st Order Filter: Check to create an additional tag (with "_Filtered" in the name) that applies a low pass filter in this item. This is only available for numerical variables.

Alarm configuration is explained in Device Tags Usage.

After editing or adding an item, just click on OK to close the Raw Tag Properties dialog and update item settings. If you want to discard all changes, click on Cancel button to close Raw Tag Properties dialog.
